People have always walked to think. The current explanation involves bilateral motion, optic flow, a nervous system that evolved on paths. Maybe. What you can verify without a paper: a loop that would not resolve at the desk often loosens on the pavement.

You may chant while walking. You may walk silently. You may refuse insight and just go. Insight is not the landlord of the practice.

A thought that cannot survive a kilometre may not have been a thought. It may have been a cramp.

If walking is unavailable, a window and a slower breath is a poorer cousin and still a cousin. The Body room is not a gym.
