What Is a Personal Year?

A nine-year weather cycle built from your birth date and the current year. A calendar game, not a decree.

A Personal Year is usually calculated by adding your birth month and day to the current calendar year, then reducing. Traditional interpretations say the result colours the twelve months: 1 begins, 9 completes, the others take their stations. It is a cycle imposed on a life that does not actually reset on 1 January for everyone.

Why people like it

Annual weather is psychologically handy. It gives a year a plot. Plots help with packing. They also become prisons when a 4 year is treated as a ban on joy, or a 5 year as a command to explode a household. Timing systems in Jyotish — dashas, transits — are a different machinery. Do not stack them into a single panic.

A year can have a climate. You still choose the walk.

This house will describe each Personal Year as a prompt, not a forecast. If your life disagrees with the digit, believe your life. The number is a guest.
