Personal Year 1 — Beginning Again

Traditional interpretations say Personal Year 1 is seed-time: new work, new identity, the courage to be first. Also: impatience with anything that smells like last year. If you needed permission to begin, here is a symbolic one. If you needed a guarantee, there isn't one.

Beginnings are expensive. They cost the old arrangement. Year 1 weather is honest about that cost if you let it be. It is dishonest when it is used as a rebrand while the previous mess is still on the floor.

A beginning that will not bury its dead becomes a costume.

Practical observation: pick one beginning and give it ninety days. Not seven. The digit loves inauguration speeches. Your life prefers a second Tuesday.
