The internet sells mantras as keys: say this, unlock that. Traditional schools can sound like that too, especially in translation. CapSage's bias is plainer. A repeated phrase can train attention. It cannot replace repentance, medicine, work, or apology.
Traditional interpretations say a mantra well-repeated purifies, protects, grants. Those are theological claims inside traditions. Evidence does not demonstrate that a correctly pronounced formula rearranges events. Fluency is not fruit.
If a sound promised you a life, it was advertising.
Use a mantra as a thread. Judge it by whether you become slightly more able to return, slightly less cruel, slightly more present to the next necessary act. If it makes you special, put it down. Specialness is a hungry god in every room of this house.

Can Science Explain Why Repetition Feels Calming?
Partly. Rhythm, breath, prediction. Not the whole of prayer. Do not make a lab into a church, or a church into a lab.
