Weighing Contradictory Indications

The lagna-lord occupies a kendra in dignity. The same chart’s Moon is under pressure in a dusthana. A raja-type yoga is present. The current mahadasha belongs to a dusthana lord. Each of those statements can be technically fair. None of them, taken alone, is the chart. Contradiction is the ordinary condition of a complete horoscope. The work is to weigh, not to pick a mascot.

First, check whether the disagreement is real

Some apparent contradictions are artefacts. An unknown or approximate birth time can produce a lagna-based yoga and a Moon-based story that were never in the same figure. Birth Time Reliability is the prior filter. If the lagna is a rumour, house-named yogas and house-named dasha results should be marked as such. What remains — planetary signs, many conjunctions, the Moon’s mansion, a mahadasha from a dated Moon — may still be usable. Weighing starts with what the data can actually support.

Ayanamsa choice near a sign or nakshatra boundary can also manufacture a disagreement: exaltation on one calculation, next-sign debility on another. Name the ayanamsa before you stage a fight between two versions of the same planet.

Separate kinds of testimony

Not every indication is the same kind of claim. Useful piles:

• Structure — lagna, house lords, occupancy, yogas. These describe the natal figure. They persist.
• Condition — dignity, combustion, retrogression, closeness to the Sun. These describe how a planet is able to work.
• Frame — lagna versus Chandra lagna. Two legitimate counting origins. Lagna vs Chandra Lagna is the longer note. A planet can be a kendra lord from one origin and a dusthana lord from the other.
• Time — dasha and transit. These describe which part of the figure is currently loud. Dashas vs Transits keeps the two clocks distinct.

A structural yes and a timing no is a common and honest pair: the yoga exists; this decade is not hiring it. A structural no and a timing yes is also a pair: this period is loud for a weak planet. Those are not failures of the method. They are the method noticing two layers.

Repetition outweighs an isolated flourish

If three separate routes point at the same area of life — owner, occupant, and current dasha lord all tied to the seventh, for example — that area deserves more of the paragraph. If a single flashy yoga has no echo in occupation, dasha, or the Moon’s figure, keep it as a clause and do not let it run the essay. Classical teaching already prefers combinations that repeat across varga and across lords; CapSage, without requiring a full varga suite on a weak hour, can still prefer repetition inside D1.

The hazard is confirmation bias: once you like a story, every echo looks like proof and every dissent looks like noise. Weighing requires you to list the dissent in the same ink as the echo. If you cannot find dissent, you are probably not looking.

A short worked split

Take a figure in which Jupiter rules the ninth and twelfth, sits in the first in decent dignity, and the current mahadasha is Saturn’s, with Saturn ruling the seventh and eighth and occupying the tenth. Fair sentences: Jupiter in the first as ninth-lord supports a visible dharma-and-teaching theme; Jupiter also owns a dusthana; Saturn’s period is hiring partnership, hidden matters, and public work at once. None of these delete the others. A ranking that follows the order below would lead with the current period (Saturn’s three-house brief), keep Jupiter’s first-house ninth-lord as standing structure, and mark the twelfth-lordship as a quieter modifier on Jupiter rather than as the headline of the life. Another ranking could be argued. The point is to show the ranking.

Dignity and function can both be true

A planet exalted in a dusthana, or debilitated as yoga-karaka, will generate two fair sentences. Ease of function and local job are different variables. The exalted dusthana occupant may work smoothly at a hard task. The debilitated yoga-karaka may be tasked with status and still struggle to hold it. Write the task and the capacity as a pair. Do not let the dignity table win because it is famous, and do not let the house number win because it is grim. Yoga cancellation is the specialised version of this problem inside named combinations. A ranking you can actually use

When two indications disagree and both are data-supported, CapSage’s working order is:

• Data quality first. House-level claims drop in rank if the hour cannot hold them.
• Repetition second. Several independent links to the same bhava outrank a single named yoga.
• Current time third. Dasha (and then transit) decides which of the natal facts is speaking this year.
• Condition fourth. Dignity and affliction modify how the speaking planet works; they rarely erase the job.
• The quieter testimony last — kept on the page, marked as quieter, not deleted.

That order is a discipline, not a law of nature. Another school may rank Chandra-lagna equal to lagna, or may let a shadbala figure outrank repetition. Fine. Name the ranking you are using. The failure mode is an unspoken ranking that always promotes the indication you wanted.

Language that can carry a split

Prefer: “The natal figure supports X; the current period emphasises Y.” Prefer: “From the lagna this planet is tasked with A; from the Moon, with B.” Prefer: “Both are present; the dasha of N is more likely to hire the first.” Avoid a single adjective for the whole life. Avoid resolving the split in the headline because a headline was hungry.

Sometimes the honest last line is that you cannot rank them yet. A missing biography, a disputed hour, two equally echoed claims — the Method’s “we do not know” belongs there. It is a result. It is not a failure to have a take.
