Not all Christian repetition is the Jesus Prayer, though that belongs here too. Psalm 23 has been said until it is almost a bead: valleys, tables, oil, dwelling. People who would not call themselves chanters have used it as a thread in hospital corridors.
Scripture becoming repetition is not a lowering. It is how a text enters the nervous system. The theology remains Jewish and Christian, not generic 'comfort content'.
A psalm you only find pretty has not yet been asked to work at 3 a.m.
