Every tradition of practice is, among other things, a treasury of attention. Chanting spends it on a Name. Astrology spends it on a sky. Scrolling spends it on a machine that does not love you. You already have a spiritual life. It is wherever the minutes actually go.
You do not need to become a monk. You need one protected expenditure: a person, a craft, a phrase, a rest. Guard it poorly if you must. Guard it.
