The Strength of Jupiter

Jupiter is sold as luck. Luck is a marketing word. Within Jyotish, Guru is expansion, dharma, teachers, ethics, knowledge, children, the significations of wealth that come through meaning rather than through a hustle. A strong Jupiter is not simply more blessings. It is more of whatever it touches.

Wisdom, belief, a road with a teacher on it — these are the gifts people want from the ninth and the fifth. Strong Jupiter can describe a life that finds meaning the way other lives find cabs. It can also describe a life that cannot stop preaching, cannot stop growing a waistline, cannot stop buying the next course because expansion feels like oxygen.

Jupiter expands things. Your waistline is technically an expansion too. So is a belief that did not need a megaphone.

Traditionally, Jupiter as a teacher assigns work. The work is judgement: what to enlarge, what to refuse. Expansion without judgement is excess with better lighting. If a Jupiter dasha arrived and still felt empty, that situation has a page. If Jupiter is strong in a chart, ask what it is strong at — teaching, appetite, righteousness, generosity — and whether that strength has a floor. A lucky charm does not ask. A teacher does.
