Jupiter is not a lucky charm. Lucky charms are for drawers. Guru is a teacher.
The slogan
Benefic, in the old vocabulary, names a planet that tends to protect or enlarge. Popular speech heard 'benefic' and ordered a lottery ticket. Within Jyotish, Jupiter expands whatever it touches — including confusion, appetite, and a belief that did not need a megaphone.
The more nuanced weather
A well-placed Guru can describe access to teachers, a generous climate, a mind that finds morale. It does not demonstrate that events will go your way. Practitioners know 'too much Guru'. CapSage wrote a question about it.
Luck is a word we use when we do not want to name the labour, the luck of class, or the weather.
