Number 7: Inquiry, Solitude and Inner Search

Seven has somehow acquired the job description of 'mystic'. It deserves a better explanation.

Number 7 is the scholar, the analyst, the person who would like the party to be a library. Traditional interpretations say inner search, research, spiritual appetite, the lone walk. Also: isolation dressed as superiority, scepticism as a hiding place, intimacy treated as a contamination.

Solitude is a tool

Some work requires a closed door. That is not a personality disorder and it is not enlightenment. Seven-weather becomes unwell when the door forgets it has a handle on the inside. Water Violet, in Bach's language, names the distance of self-sufficiency. Ketu essays in this house talk about unhooking. Neighbours, not equivalents.

Evidence does not demonstrate that Life Path 7s become monks. Plenty become engineers who prefer the problem to the meeting. The prompt is: what are you studying, and what are you using study to avoid?

A question can be a lantern. It can also be a locked gate.

Personal Year 7 is often sold as a retreat year. If you can take one, good. If you cannot, you can still refuse the extra noise. Inquiry does not require a mountain. It requires a little honesty about why you left the room.
