Children know. So do liturgies, factories, and malas. Repetition reduces the tax of deciding. That can be safety. It can also be a cage (Rock Water, Oak). The test is whether you can stop without a crisis.
If repetition soothes you, you are not childish. You are using an old technology. Pair it with one door that opens: a walk without the same podcast, a meal without the same show. Safety plus a gate.
A roof is for living under. If you cannot leave the house, it is a lid.
