Perception, Projection and the Arudha

The person you are and the person the world thinks you are are not always on speaking terms. Jyotish has a technical name for the second of those persons. In Jaimini, the Arudha Lagna (AL) is a calculated image of the lagna — a projection, a maya-body, how the life is seen rather than how it rises.

Keep the grammar honest. Arudha is not a vibe. It is a house counted by a rule from the lagna and its lord (with the usual exceptions the texts argue about). Without a trustworthy birth time there is no trustworthy lagna, and therefore no trustworthy AL. CapSage will not print an Arudha for a chart whose minute is a rumour.

Used carefully, AL is a way of asking why a quiet person is treated as a monument, or a substantial person as a rumour. Reputation, brand, the story that travels ahead of the body — these are not the lagna. They are not automatically lies either. Projection is a human habit. Jaimini gave it a map.

Image is a climate other people inhabit. Character is a climate you still have to live in when they go home.

This is not a claim that Arudha 'explains' fame or infamy. Other Jaimini significators exist and schools dispute them.
