Bach flower still life on cream paper

Mimulus is the honest one in the fear group. It will let you point.

The weather

Traditional interpretations say known fears, shyness, the thing with a name. Aspen is the unnamed shiver; Mimulus is the named one. That distinction is the whole gift. People waste years treating a named fear as if it were a mystery, or a mystery as if it were a form they could fill in.

Beside the profile

Mimulus already lives in this house as a profile: “The fear you can point to.” Known fears, shyness, the thing with a name — illness, money, a person, a place. Different from Aspen, which sits with fear that has no object. Bach filed it under Fear — for those who have fear. The profile is the door. This essay is a longer walk around the same weather. Neither is a diagnosis, a product, or a treatment plan.

A fear with a name can be walked toward. Slowly.

A takeaway

Write the fear in one clause. If you can, it may be Mimulus weather. If you cannot, visit Aspen. Neither visit is treatment. Both are orientation.
