Pattern rooms — sky, numbers, flowers — are meaning-making engines. They are good at it. They will overfit. A delayed train is sometimes a delayed train. Mustard weather is sometimes cloud. Not every coincidence is postage.
You may still enjoy a meaning. Enjoyment is allowed. Necessity is the problem. When every event must teach, you have built a courtroom that never adjourns.
Meaning is a guest. If it lives in the house rent-free and makes the rules, evict it for a weekend.
