Combust Mercury, briefly

When Mercury walks too close to the Sun, the old books call it combust. The mind still works. It works in glare. Speech may arrive as proclamation, or as a private calculation that never quite leaves the chest.

Do not tell a combust Mercury they cannot think. Tell them the weather is bright. Editing may need shade.
